KumiPete got back to us really quickly and answered all our questions. He's very forthcoming and I really hope his interview will inspire more fetishists to break out of their solitary confines. I think KumiPete is the kind of man you'd like to have as a fetishist buddy and as a "real life" friend, given his healthy outlook on his fetish, his life and his feelings and consideration for the people around him.
Without further chatter, our first public fetishist interview. Please feel free to post any comments or questions to KumiPete here, or at his YouTube channel.
Public Fetishist Files I: KumiPete (Unedited except to follow structure of the interview.)
Where do you live?
I live in Finland, on the suburban area of Helsinki, our capital city.
How long have you been dressing up in latex and rainwear in public? What made you decide to take your fetish into the public?
I have been dressing up in latex and rainwear in public for about 10-15 years, first starting on rainwear and gradually shifting to more kinky rubber outfits. Internet has been a great inspiration to me, and I think the original idea came from some pics I discovered when browsing in the early 90's. I found wearing latex in public something very kinky that really turned me on.

Do you consider yourself a fetishist? Why or why not? If you identify as a fetishist, can you tell us about how your fetish developed/when you discovered it, etc.?
I think I really am a fetishist, as my urge to put on some latex or rainwear garments is so strong that I cannot resist it. I couldn't imagine my life without my sweet fetish. I also believe that my fetish is quite harmless, so why to hide it! It is a big part of my personality and gives me such a great pleasure.
Actually, I have had rainwear fetish as long as I remember, starting already from childhood. When I was left home alone, I often secretly wore some rainwear or folded the rubber coated apron from the kitchen inside my trousers... I simply couldn't resist my fetish. I also remember founding other rubber items such as rubber boots and gloves very stimulating already on the early age.
What's your favorite latex outfit? What is your next purchase?
During all the years (I am now 36 year old) I have naturally bought some latex and rainwear gear for myself. My favourite rainwear is the blue suit I have shown in some of my videos. It includes bib trousers and a hooded jacket. The material is coated from both sides and is rather heavy, wearing it gives a bit restricted and clumsy feeling, which I find arousing. I have also found my loose fitting black latex overall as one of my favourite outfits, especially when worn in public with gloves, hood and my rubber riding boots (as you can see in my videos). It would of course always be fun to buy more latex and rainwear garments: perhaps some colourful rainwear made from latex could be my next purchase...

You seem to live in a very tolerant area. In many of our videos people don't seem to even notice a fully rubberized man in their presence. Have you ever had a negative experience?
When I have worn latex and rainwear in public, I haven't really got any negative comments. I do have heard some laughing, but that is okay, it is good if people find my clothing just funny and not in any sense threatening. By the way, that is why I wear an open faced hood: I want that people can see my face and easily have contact to me, so that they can notice that I am just a normal chap except wearing a bit kinky outfit... I want people to me amused, not frightened, even though it would be easier to stay anonymous behind a closed mask with just small eyeholes...

I think you must be one of the most popular male exhibitionists on YouTube. Do you receive lots of messages from fans and admirers and people looking for help?
I have got some amount of fan e-mail after my videos on YouTube and pics on Flickr.
Any tips for fetishists who might want to brave the "real" world and wear their gear in public?
It seems that there are many fellow fetishist who would like to wear latex and rainwear in public, but have not yet had the courage. My tip for them is: put your latex gear under some regular clothing, drive somewhere where you are certain you will not pop into any of your friends, relatives or colleagues from your office, then undress in your car and just go for it! It will be your most exciting experience and lot of fun!

What other kinds of kinky things do you enjoy? What are your more mainstream hobbies?
Perhaps I should confess that I am not living in latex 24/7 (even though that might be fun). I also live quite normal suburban life...

So there you are. Why not allow KumiPete's healthy approach to fetish and life in general inspire you to live your own fetish dreams! (And let us know if KumiPete has inspired you to a more open existence.)
